High Grade Greens Sampler
A select group of greens offering a range of leaf styles, varietals, flavors and aromas. Each is a spring harvest green. The leaf shapes are distinct - small and curled; flat, shaped like a feather; and, large and natural. The tastes range from vegetal and sweet to light, clear and clean. Enjoy one ounce (1 oz.) of each and gain an overview of a few of China's famous greens. Our special sampler includes:
Bi Luo Chun - “Green Snail Spring” - a delicate and wonderfully complex spring tea. Each pound contains sixty to seventy thousand sets of bud and accompanying leaf. A good Bi Luo Chun should have a delicacy with the hint of an edge – strong, vigorous and sweet. The temperature for brewing is best at 160-180 F.
Dragon Well - “Long Jing” - tastes like the very essence of spring and is famous for its golden-green hue. First-grade Dragon Well is made with the first flush harvest. Crafted in a wok, feather-shaped bud sets offer scents of nuttiness and toasty flavors with chestnut overtones. Steep in water 160-180 F for 1.5 to 2 minutes.
AnJi White - a rare varietal, has a mouth texture described as liquid silk. This delicate green leaf offers a very high level of theanine, resulting in a smooth mouth feel and rich "umami taste." The secret to enjoying this tea is in the steeping process - use a cooler temperature water at 165-185 F.

Supporting adults with disabilities
Silk Road Teas is more than just tea. We are committed to giving back to our community by providing jobs packaging our teas to disabled adults. As the older brother of a disabled person, Ned Heagerty, Silk Road Teas President, recognized the challenges and limited opportunities disabled adults face. So he wanted to make a difference. It is a small step, but it is an action we believe in and will continue to follow. Recently, we were honored by receiving the Employer of the Year Award from Integrated Community Services (ICS) for our commitment to employ persons with disabilities.
