Peach Fragrance Oolong
Peach Fragrance – Tao Ren Xiang – this lot was hand-picked from a single tree on WuDong Mountain in the Fenghuang area of Guangdong Province. The Chao An area where this tea was grown is famous for production of Dan Cong style oolongs. The lot is handmade by an artisan tea maker.
Our lot is unusual. Note the bright, reddish-green leaf appearance. In steeping, the greener side coloration of the leaf will become more apparent. This tea has a brief note of tanginess, then moves to a naturally sweet, honey-like liquor offering hints of almond as a result of the wood-charcoal firing process. A rare Dong Cong style oolong that will intoxicate! It will steep multiple times as the leaves open slowly. It is best to steep the leaves briefly, about 1 - 1.5 minutes, using water just below boiling temperature.

Supporting adults with disabilities
Silk Road Teas is more than just tea. We are committed to giving back to our community by providing jobs packaging our teas to disabled adults. As the older brother of a disabled person, Ned Heagerty, Silk Road Teas President, recognized the challenges and limited opportunities disabled adults face. So he wanted to make a difference. It is a small step, but it is an action we believe in and will continue to follow. Recently, we were honored by receiving the Employer of the Year Award from Integrated Community Services (ICS) for our commitment to employ persons with disabilities.
