Delicious new shipment
This is always one of my favorite green teas of the year. Great aromatics and smooth long flavor yet delicate.
A vegetally sweet green tea harvesting early in the spring. This year's lot is pre-Qing Ming - picked in the last week of March. The leaf is a deep green color, curled and offering high white bud content. Our select or harvest grade Green Snail Spring or Bi Luo Chun, it offers a greener leaf appearance than the higher grade of BLC. An excellent value tea that captures a taste of spring in a sweet, relaxing cup.
Lot Notes. This lot was harvested in one of the first plucks of the season which typically means pronounced flavors. With steeping, rich vegetal flavors come through. Its flavors are brisk and clean. Given the timing of the pluck, its mineral content and antioxidants should be high.
Tea Facts. Tea was grown in Fujian Province. This style of BLC is commonly consumed as an everyday green tea. It is basket fired accentuating the varietal’s rich tastes. This lot was harvested in April 2024.
Tasting Notes. Offers a delicate peach-like fragrance and a unique aroma. Leaves are green-side offering sweet & soft fruity flavors. We find hints of apricot with no astringency. The flavor is soft and warming.
Brewing Suggestions. Use 3 grams of leaf (a teaspoon) for 6-8 ounces of water at a temperature of 185-195 degrees F should result in a flavorful cup or pot. Steep time is best at 2-2.5 minutes and taste. It can be steeped for 3-plus minutes while maintaining a sweet-side flavor. The leaves will yield multiple steeps.
