Leaves open to rich, full-bodied, smooth aromas and flavors of deep earthy sweetness and notes of cocoa. A rich and full-bodied Shou Pu-erh offering.
Lot Notes. Tea was grown organic in Zhengwan village, in the Simao District. This is the 2nd year Silk Road has offered this tea. We find it ofers rich, clean flavors. Aroma is caramel. Lot was harvested in 2022.
Tea Facts. Leaf is refined first grade. Farm is organic since 2010. Farm elevation is 1300 meters. Lot is made with broad leaf DaYe cultivar.
Tasting Notes. Superbly clean and smooth, aroma is plum and sweet corn. Taste is strong yet smooth. This shou Pu-erh is notable for its notes of earthy sweetness, hints of cocoa and a woodsy finish.
Brewing Suggestions. Use 1.5 - 2 tbsp. of leaf for 8-12 ounces of water. Infuse leaves with boiling water (205-212F), rinse and pour off. Re-infuse and steep for 2-3 minutes. Leaves offer multiple steeps. Add 30 seconds to each additional steep.
