Emerald Green is a fresh tea, a tea made to local customs of appearance, aroma, and flavor. Our 2025 lot comes from the mountains near Fuding. Long a tea we have procured in Anhui, this year we have found a strikingly similar leaf and flavor grown in Fujian Province.
Lot Notes. The pluck standard is leaf and bud, picked early in the harvest season. The leaves are elegant, reminiscent of the Anhui cultivar and reflective of the skill applied in handling and processing. Leaf color is vibrant green, the look of an early spring tea.
Tea Facts. Lot was harvested in Pre-Qing Ming April 2025. The tea was grown at an elevation of 800 meters.
Tasting Notes. Once steeped, leaves yield a bright, crisp flavor of distinctive floral notes. We note a nice uptick of flavor at the back of the mouth. Finishes with lingering warm notes. Lot # 5.
Brewing Suggestions. We suggest one teaspoon or 2-2.5 grams of leaf for 6-8 ounces of water at a temperature of 185-195 degrees F. Steep for 2 minutes. Liquor should be a soft, clear yellow. Taste and see if it meets your flavor profile. Multiple steeps is the norm.
