We feel fortunate to once again procure this high-mountain green. Weather conditions in 2025 adversely impacted our supplier's farm resulting in unfulfilled orders. Long a customer favorite, our Snow Dragon is organically grown in the Simao District of Yunnan Province. (Note, we also offer a Snow Dragon grown in the mountains of Fujian Province and offering a very different appearance & taste profile.) Our Yunnan lot is a fine-grade pluck of one bud, one leaf offering the notable lush flavors of a spring harvest green.

  • Lot Notes. Given its late harvest date, the leaves & buds are quite thick. This lot offers a distinct vegetal aroma of asparagus and a rich sweet flavor.

  • Tea Facts. Tea was organically grown near the Nanping township, in Simao. Farm is located on Wuliang Mountain, at an elevation of approximately 1300 meters. Tea is pan fired. Tea harvested in May 2026.

  • Tasting Notes. Thick leaves open to very distinct spring Asparagus aromas. Flavor is warming and roasty with silky flavors like rice milk, followed by a sweet, mineral aftertaste.

  • Brewing Suggestions.  One teaspoon or 2.5-3 grams per 6-8 ounces of water. Use water at a temperature of 185-195 F and steep for 2 minutes. Drain all the water off the leaves between steeps for additional steeps.

Full-leaf green teas will open to layered, delicate flavors. The freshly picked leaves are dehydrated to prevent oxidization and preserve their natural green color. Japanese green teas are steamed to preserve their fresh aromas and flavor notes. It is best if green tea is not brewed with boiling water.

Lower temperature water allows the leaves to steep slowly, preserving their natural sweetness. Green teas and yellow teas offer a gentle vegetal aroma. In the mouth, flavors range from spring asparagus and delicate notes of sorrel and raw vegetables to herbaceous and nutty.
