The small leaf offers a distinct flowery aroma and a natural, peachy flavor. Snow Pear offers another glimpse into China's seemingly endless range of cultivars and flavors. Lot #4.

Lot Notes. Lot was harvested in late April 2024 Made from a local cultivar that has been farmed in the area for many years. It is crafted to a local or "fresh" style - made to regional taste preferences.

Tea Facts. It is a Min Nan oolong grown in South Fujian Province along the coast. Cultivar is small leafed. Originating farm is located at an elevation of about 600 meters.

Tasting Notes. Tasting this year's offering we found a fresh, light peachy note. The leaves open to a light shade of green and offer a subtle, fragrant flavors. It will leave a distinct yet light, sweet, fruit-like aftertaste.

Brewing Suggestions. Use approximately 3-4 grams per 6-8 ounces of water; or, serve Gongfu style with about 6+ grams per 6-8 ounces of water. Use water at 205F, rinse the leaves briefly and pour off. Re-infuse the leaves, steep for 1.5-2 minutes and taste. Leaves will offer multiple steeps.

OOLONG TEA

3 grams/1 teaspoon per 6 ounces of water

195° - 205° F

2 Minutes

Oolong leaves are large. Once plucked, they are either rolled and lightly oxidized (Tieguanyin style) or are long and crafted to a reddish-brown color (Dan Cong style).

Tieguanyin is shades of green, almost blue. Its infusion opens to an aroma of lilies of the valley with a mouthfeel of gentle vegetal notes as it develops into a buttery, floral finish. Dan Cong is aromas of brown sugar and candied fruit. The mouthfeel is strong and full-bodied with a sweet, refreshing finish. In steeping, first rinse the leaves briefly to awaken them. This steep can be enjoyed for aroma. The second steep releases precious flavors. Multiple steeps are the norm for oolongs as they are complex and layered.

Oolong for me the most economical

I love Oolong teas. This one is great. The initial cup is a mild oolong and a little bit fruity. I tend to brew my tea strong, probably because of my 60 years drinking coffee. But don’t discard the tea, save it for the next cup or next day. I am on my 3rd steep and am thinking it will go 5 or more. One trick if you like you tea a little strong do 1/2 last steep and 1/2 new tea. It a great tea I will order more.

    Sooth, Silky, Extremely Pleasing

This oolong is lovely. I prefer oolongs that are not heavily fired, I don't like a smoky or firey taste. This oolong is similar to some of the lightly processed Twaiian oologs. It has a lot of flavor while at the same time is very light on the tounge. Lovely aroma.
