White Fragrance is a "fresh tea" and a rare, unusual taste of a white spring tea. Lot was made from the MeiZhan cultivar and harvested early in the season with a fine grade pluck standard of bud and top leaf. Uniform, compact, and colorful in leaf, our lot is handcrafted to local custom of flavor and aromas.
Lot Notes. Tea was produced by the son of a long time Silk Road tea supplier. Lot was harvested the first week of April 2024. Aromas and flavors are decidedly local. While classed as a white tea, one will find unusual flavors in this tea.
Tea Facts. Cultivar is MeiZhan. Pluck standard is fine grade. Lot is handcrafted, small lot, single harvest. Farm elevation is approximately 600 meters.
Tasting Notes. Liquor is quite smooth, only a hint of classic Bai Mu Dan flavor, lush on the palette. Flavor is smooth, woody, with hints of plum.
Brewing Suggestions. Note, this tea is slow to fully open as the buds are dense. Its flavors are more apparent with the second steep. Use three grams in 5-8 ounces of water at 195F. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Flavors are more robust in second and third steeps.

White teas are produced in a brief window of time in the spring. The best whites are prized as they consist entirely of sweet buds. These teas are minimally processed in two steps – withering and drying.
Steeped white tea is delicate, extremely refreshing, and considered to contain less caffeine. The leaves will open to fresh floral, herbaceous, naturally sweet, and honey-like flavors. A stronger cup can be attained by extending the steep time.
