White Fragrance showcases our tea maker’s creativity and craftsmanship. Using the flavorful Mei Zhan cultivar, the farmer has crafted a white tea with all the appearances of a green. The result is an exceptional aroma and a distinct, layered flavor. Produced in limited quantity, this lot offers an unusual take on a cultivar typically made into varieties of green or black tea.
Lot Notes. Tea was produced by the second generation of teamakers operating a farm in the mountains along the coast of Fujian. In tasting, we were impressed with the rich appearance of the tea and sold on its wonderful flavor. While classed as a white tea, one will find green tea like flavors as well.
Tea Facts. Cultivar is MeiZhan. Pluck standard is fine grade. Lot is small, leaves are plucked, withered and processed same day. Farm elevation is approximately 600 meters. Harvested Pre-Qing Ming holiday 2025.
Tasting Notes. Liquor is quite smooth, lush on the palette. Flavor is light honey and hints of plum. Classes as a white tea and brings in crafted green tea flavors.
Brewing Suggestions. Note, this tea is slow to fully open as the buds are dense. Its flavors become more apparent with the second steep. Use 2.5 grams in 5-8 ounces of water at 195-205F. Steep for 2-2.5 minutes. Flavors are more robust in second and third steeps.

White teas are produced in a brief window of time in the spring. The best whites are prized as they consist entirely of sweet buds. These teas are minimally processed in two steps – withering and drying.
Steeped white tea is delicate, extremely refreshing, and considered to contain less caffeine. The leaves will open to fresh floral, herbaceous, naturally sweet, and honey-like flavors. A stronger cup can be attained by extending the steep time.
