Our Assam is grown in a rainy tropical plain that is one of the largest tea growing regions in the world. Assam tea is known for cultivating some of the world's strongest and full-bodied teas. Assam has long been prized for its range of flavors and aromas.
Lot notes. Grown and processed at the Kalgar Estate in the valley of the Brahmaputra River, an area of clay soil rich in the nutrients of the floodplain. Our lot is a second flush pluck, FTGFOp1, harvested in 2023. Offers classic Assam flavors and a refreshing aroma.
Tea facts. Grown in eastern India, the varietal is Camellia sinensis. Farm soils are a loamy type which contributes to the tea's rich and nuanced flavors.
Tasting notes. This lot is a classic Assam that is bright and crisp with notes of citrus peel followed by rich layers of whole grain and a sweet oaky finish. Flavors are enhanced with the addition of milk and sugar.
Brewing suggestions. For 8-12 ounces of water, at a temperature of 195-212 F, use one teaspoon of leaf. Steep for 3-4 minutes and enjoy!.
