This Dragon Well (Longjing) is an early season pluck. To find a Pre-Qing Ming, high-quality, organic DW early in the season is a first for us. We procured this lot during our visit to Hangzhou in late March 2026. The lot was presented by Ms. Chien, a broker for over 30 years in Hangzhou. Ms. Chien sources DWs from factories in Zhen Zhou County. These factories produce tea primarily for the domestic China market. Our lot offers a glimpse into the world of prized early-spring Longjing cultivars and, of course, a price reflective of that status.
Lot Notes. Lot was harvested fourth week of March 2026. Certified organic, lot is uniform in leaf size with rich green-yellow coloration. Not a high-fire Dragon Well.
Tea Facts. Tea was organically grown in Zhen Zhou County. Cultivar is number 43. Lot was wok fired!
Taste Profile. First sip is an evident flavor of tender green beans. Nuttiness is sweet and clean, with a subtle note of chestnut.
Brewing Suggestion. Water temperature would be best at between 175 and 195 F. Use 2-2.5 grams per 6-8 ounces of water and steep for two minutes to enjoy the range of this tea's flavors.

Green Tea
Full-leaf green teas will open to layered, delicate flavors. The freshly picked leaves are dehydrated to prevent oxidization and preserve their natural green color. Japanese green teas are steamed to preserve their fresh aromas and flavor notes. It is best if green tea is not brewed with boiling water.
Lower temperature water allows the leaves to steep slowly, preserving their natural sweetness. Green teas and yellow teas offer a gentle vegetal aroma. In the mouth, flavors range from spring asparagus and delicate notes of sorrel and raw vegetables to herbaceous and nutty.
