Dragon Well, Long Jing, has a rich and long history of cultivation and may well be the most famous tea in the world. Its exquisite taste highlights why it is much sought after and recognized as one of China’s most popular teas. Grown organically, artisanal crafted, this lot is an excellent choice as an everyday tea. An invigorating beverage anytime, it goes well with food for added flavor and acts as a digestive.

Lot Notes. Our Dragon Well is sourced in Zhejiang Province. The cultivation of this local cultivar has developed a taste profile we find honors the finest traditions of this tea. The leaves are crafted to offer the "4 uniques" of this famed tea - jade color, vegetative aroma, chestnut-like flavor and a feather shape.

Tea Facts. Grown organically in Shen Zhou County, Zhejiang Province. Harvest date is April 2026. Farm location is well outside the congested urban area and the effects of its factory belt. Leaves are small to medium in size. Note the light "fuzz" on the leaves and the unmistakably delicious aroma that supports its fresh taste.

Tasting Notes. Crisp flavors and a rich vegetal aroma. Steeped, this lot offers sweet, nutty, chestnut-like notes. Cup liquor is green-yellow and clean. The finish will linger with sweet flavors.

Brewing Suggestions. We suggest using 2-2.5 grams of leaf (a tablespoon) for 6-8 ounces of water. Best if the water temperature is well below boiling at 195 F. Steep for 2 minutes and taste. All the taste notes should be open at this stage. For a stronger cup, steep 2.5 minutes and enjoy. Leaves provide multiple steeps.

Full-leaf green teas will open to layered, delicate flavors. The freshly picked leaves are dehydrated to prevent oxidization and preserve their natural green color. Japanese green teas are steamed to preserve their fresh aromas and flavor notes. It is best if green tea is not brewed with boiling water.

Lower temperature water allows the leaves to steep slowly, preserving their natural sweetness. Green teas and yellow teas offer a gentle vegetal aroma. In the mouth, flavors range from spring asparagus and delicate notes of sorrel and raw vegetables to herbaceous and nutty.
