A vegetally sweet green tea harvesting early in the spring. This year's lot is pre-Qing Ming - picked in the first week of April. The leaf is a deep green color, curled and offering high white bud content. Our select or harvest grade Green Snail Spring or Bi Luo Chun, it offers a greener leaf appearance than the higher grade of BLC. An excellent value tea that captures a taste of spring in a sweet, relaxing cup.

Lot Notes. We tasted this offering with Mr. Chen Fen, one of our suppliers for Fujian green teas. This lot is one of the first plucks of the season which typically means pronounced flavors. With steeping, rich vegetal flavors come through. Its flavors are brisk and clean. Given the timing of the pluck, its mineral content and antioxidants should be high.

Tea Facts. Tea was grown in Fujian Province. This style of BLC is commonly consumed within China as an everyday green tea. It is basket fired accentuating the cultivar's rich flavors. This lot was harvested in April 2025.

Tasting Notes. Offers a delicate peach-like fragrance and a unique aroma. Leaves are green-side offering sweet & soft fruity flavors. We find hints of apricot with no astringency. The flavor is soft and warming.

Brewing Suggestions. Use 2.5-3 grams of leaf (a tablespoon) for 6-8 ounces of water at a temperature of 185-195 degrees F should result in a flavorful cup or pot. Steep time is best at 2-2.5 minutes and taste. It can be steeped for 3-plus minutes while maintaining a sweet-side flavor. The leaves will yield multiple steeps.

Full-leaf green teas will open to layered, delicate flavors. The freshly picked leaves are dehydrated to prevent oxidization and preserve their natural green color. Japanese green teas are steamed to preserve their fresh aromas and flavor notes. It is best if green tea is not brewed with boiling water.

Lower temperature water allows the leaves to steep slowly, preserving their natural sweetness. Green teas and yellow teas offer a gentle vegetal aroma. In the mouth, flavors range from spring asparagus and delicate notes of sorrel and raw vegetables to herbaceous and nutty.
