Yellow Bud is fine pluck tea with leaves oxidized to shades of amber hues of light and dark gold. Elegantly shaped leaves and a rich aroma are reminiscent of a Golden Monkey, but the comparison stops there. Yellow Bud opens with light floral flavors and gentle maltiness.
Lot Notes. Farm is in the mountains above Fuding. Lot was harvested March 31st. The elegant shape of the leaves caught our attention immediately as did its compelling aroma. The aromas are an invite to taste!
Tea Facts. Harvested 2026 and made from the local cultivar No.6. Pluck standard is one bud, one leaf plus one small leaf. The temperature in processing the leaves is what distinguishes this tea from its Golden Monkey cousin. The added small leaf plus its higher temperature firing brings out its distinctive floral character.
Tasting Notes. The tea's floral character comes through first. Malty notes are initially muted, then come forward later on the palate. Flavor is light, sweet, and flowery.
Brewing Suggestions. For 6-8 ounces of water, use 2.5-3 grams of leaf. Steep at 195-205 F. for 2.5-3 minutes.

Black Tea
Black tea is a leaf that has been fully oxidized. This rigorous oxidization produces a tea of hearty rich flavors while reducing its astringency and bringing out a natural sweetness.
Flavors will range from bright, brisk, peppery, clean, and smoky to aromatic, bold, malty, nutty, spicy, and sweet. Blacks are known for long, delicately aromatic, and comforting aftertastes. Note, they are often enjoyed with milk or sweetener.
