Our Chai is a "mixed spice tea" made of a robust Indian black and traditional masala spices. Unapologetically spicy, Chai offers fragrant aromas and pungent, lively flavors. In the cup, it will nourish the palate and stimulate.

Lot Notes. An organic blend made using a base of Indian black tea blended with spices of cardamom, cinnamon and ginger. This tea has bite and will enliven the senses.

Tea Facts.  Base organic black tea is grown in India. Tea is caffeinated. Selected herbs are fresh and organic.

Tasting Notes. The black tea base creates a sweet flavor accentuating the spices of the blend and complexity in its taste. Cardamon is evident, then hints of cinnamon to enliven. Enjoy a lively mouth feel with plenty of lingering aftertaste! It can be infused with milk and sugar.

Brewing Suggestions. Use a rounded tablespoon of leaf and spices for 8 ounces of water. Water should be at boiling temperature (205-212 F). Steep for 3 minutes. For stronger body, steep 4-5 minutes. Flavors can be added as well as milk or substitutes.

BLACK TEA

3 grams/1 teaspoon per 6 ounces of water

195° - 205° F

2 Minutes

Black tea is a leaf that has been fully oxidized. This rigorous oxidization produces a tea of hearty rich flavors while reducing its astringency and bringing out a natural sweetness.

Flavors will range from bright, brisk, peppery, clean, and smoky to aromatic, bold, malty, nutty, spicy, and sweet. Blacks are known for long, delicately aromatic, and comforting aftertastes. Note, they are often enjoyed with milk or sweetener.

I had this tea on a Princess Cruise to Alaska

Posted by Janet Colletti on 11th Jan 2025

I had this tea on a Princess Cruise to Alaska and it was wonderful! I made such a fuss about how much I liked it my husband tracked it down and got me some for Christmas. It is SO good! I’m trying to lose some cruise weight and a cup of delicious hot tea sees me through. I will be buying more!

2 parts of this amazing Chai (8oz water -> 1tbsp chai). Boil gently for 3 minutes and pour into 1 part warmed oat milk creamer and 1 part coffee (or 2 parts creamer, if you prefer). Top with a half dropper of habanero extract. Embrace the divine.

    Amazing Chai tea!

Posted by Rebekah Castiello on 12th Mar 2023

I had this tea at a bakery in Santa Rosa on a trip. I was so much in love with the spices of this Chai that I ordered the largest size you can when I came back. This tea makes my morning special, and is the best Chai I have ever had!

    Chai or cinnamon tea ?

Posted by Randy Hyde on 3rd Mar 2023

I am trying to figure out what happened to my batch it was a cinnamon bomb. All we could smell and taste is cinnamon; too much cinnamon oil? I left the bag open, thinking it would air out, making the whole house smell of cinnamon. I ended up cutting it 50/ 50 with some cheap CTC Assam Loose Leaf Black Tea to make it drinkable

    Organic Chai

Posted by Randy H on 21st Dec 2022

Big sigh,... I love Chai and Cinnamon; I'll get to Cinnamon in a second. I purchased a pound of this Organic Chai. When I opened the bag, all I could smell was Cinnamon. It appears this Chai has been laced with cinnamon oil, a lot of Cinnamon oil. To make it drinkable, I cut this Chai with another Chai blend I have at a rate of 4 to 1 to make it drinkable. I'm giving it two stars it's not bad, diluted down 4-1, but it's not my expectation at purchase
