We selected an organic Snow Dragon grown in the Simao District of Yunnan Province as it tasted so good! (We also offer this tea from the Fuding area of Fujian Province.) This lot is a fine pluck of one bud one leaf and offers the appearance of snow (plenty of white leaf) as well as the refreshing and lush flavors we look for.
Lot Notes. This lot offers a notable sweet flavor. Tea was harvested in late spring this year due to drought conditions in Yunnan Province. Given its late harvest date, the leaves are thick and rich in flavor.
Tea Facts. Tea was organically grown near the Nanping township, in Simao. Farm is located on Wuliang Mountain. Basket fired. Tea harvested in late May 2024.
Tasting Notes. Thick leaves open to sweet, clean vegetal flavors with an umami character. Flavor - think sweet corn. Aroma is softly vegetal. It is a good tea as a morning beverage.
Brewing Suggestions. One teaspoon or 2.5-3 grams per 6-8 ounces of water. Use water at a temperature of 185-195 F and steep for 2 minutes. Drain all the water off the leaves between steeps for additional steeps.

Full-leaf green teas will open to layered, delicate flavors. The freshly picked leaves are dehydrated to prevent oxidization and preserve their natural green color. Japanese green teas are steamed to preserve their fresh aromas and flavor notes. It is best if green tea is not brewed with boiling water.
Lower temperature water allows the leaves to steep slowly, preserving their natural sweetness. Green teas and yellow teas offer a gentle vegetal aroma. In the mouth, flavors range from spring asparagus and delicate notes of sorrel and raw vegetables to herbaceous and nutty.

Great flavor
This has a very complex flavor profile. As stated, it is sweet, but I taste a combination of asparagus, melon, apple, chamomile, and some bitterness. I am on my first sampling so will let you know if anything else shows up. Overall, a very nice somewhat aromatic green tea.
